Laser Hair Removal works by directing concentrated light to target the hair follicle at the root. The pigment in the follicles absorb the light and that destroys the hair without damaging the skin surface, so even sensitive skin can be treated.
Before your appointment
SHAVE the treatment area the night before your appointment! Very important
NO WAXING or TWEEZING between treatments as pigment is required in the hair follicle for the laser to identify the hair and for the treatment to be effective
How many treatments
Everyone is slightly different
Typical average is between 8 - 12 treatments every 4 - 6 weeks
Following a treatment
The skin may be red immediately after the treatment, this usually subsides within 48 hours. Your skin is more sensitive to sun damage. You absolutely need to wear sunscreen after your laser session.
The hair growth slows considerably. It usually takes 2-3 weeks at which point the dead hair will fall out.
